Lovell Bradford is renowned locally for his versatility, artistry and dedication to the art of jazz. In this straightahead series, Lovell curates a vibrant set of performances for the real jazz fan in you. This month, we present homegrown jazz drummer Chrishawn Darby and his jazz quintet.

Chrishawn Darby is a drummer, percussionist, composer, and instructor. Originally from South Carolina, he completed his Masters degree at North Carolina Central University and currently serves as Professor of Percussion at Guilford College in Greensboro. He has performed with Grammy-nominated and award-winning artists including Janinah Burnett, The Glenn Miller Orchestra, Shana Tucker, Brian Horton, The Camel City Jazz Orchestra, Keenan McKenzie and the Riffers, Steve Haines, Chad Eby and more.
LOVELL BRADFORD
Pianist Lovell Bradford has performed with artists such as Jennifer Holiday, Pharez Whitted, Slide Hampton, Wynton Marsalis, Wes “Warmdaddy” Anderson, Ronnie Burrage, and many others. He is the Adjunct Jazz Piano Instructor at Davidson College and serves on the faculty of JazzArts Charlotte Youth Ensembles.
