September 2024 — The future of American Jazz is safe in the hands of Antonia Bennett. She continues the tradition of sharing classics, while simultaneously presenting originals that sound like they have taken a page straight from The Great American Songbook. The New York Times describes her distinctive voice as “Billie Holliday and Rickie Lee Jones, with a hint of Betty Boop.”
Jazz vocalist Antonia is the youngest daughter of legendary artist Tony Bennett and actress Sandra Grant Bennett. Antonia grew up in Los Angeles, surrounded by some of the greatest vocalists of all time, including Rosemary Clooney, Ella Fitzgerald, and Frank Sinatra. Starting as early as age 4, Antonia was known to get up and sing at her father’s parties during the holidays. According to the man himself, “Antonia’s got the gift.”
Antonia Bennett honed her craft her entire life, with mentors like Dean Martin and Gene Kelly, ultimately developing her own style. As if her family life wasn’t enough of an education, after high school, Antonia attended the esteemed Berklee College of Music in Boston.
Antonia moved to New York City and, by the mid-2000s, started performing as Tony’s opening act at renowned venues throughout the world: Radio City Music Hall, the Hollywood Bowl, the Newport Jazz Festival, and Royal Albert Hall in London. Antonia has shared the stage with icons such as Rosemary Clooney, Count Basie, Regis Philbin, and Don Rickles.
In 2008, Antonia recorded “I’ve Got My Love to Keep Me Warm” with her father, featured on his album “A Swingin’ Christmas.” In 2010, she released her own critically acclaimed EP, “Natural,” where she shows herself as a gifted interpreter of jazz classics with an impeccable and accessible vocal style.
Her full 2014 debut album “Embrace Me,” showcases ten standards from the Great American Songbook, expertly and effortlessly bridge the gap between the past and present.
