For this month’s Neo Soul Night, Emanuel Wynter pays tribute to Anthony Hamilton’s iconic album, “Comin’ from Where I’m From,” to celebrate the anniversary of its release.
The performance is a journey back to the roots of authentic R&B, right here in Charlotte, North Carolina, the city Hamilton calls home. Wynter recreates the rugged emotion and post-millennial R&B soul of the album that earned Hamilton’s first three of 12 Grammy nominations and went platinum, making him an instant legend.
Anthony Hamilton began his musical journey singing in his Charlotte church choir and at South Meck High School, and is now a Grammy Award-winning singer, songwriter, and producer known globally for his rich, soulful voice and heartfelt lyrics. His blend of traditional soul, R&B, and gospel has made him a respected figure in music.
