Howard McNair’s annual birthday bash at Middle C Jazz is a high-energy R&B showcase that brings the community together, always including a stage full of stellar guests, for a night of soulful rhythm and celebration. Whether a long-time fans or a newcomer to Howard’s music, you’re invited to enjoy a festive tribute to his signature sound and Carolina musical legacy.
HOWARD MCNAIR
With fundamentals forged in the gospel of the church and honed by the improvisational freedom of jazz, Howard McNair’s music is a rich blend of soul-touching genres. From his early years as a church pianist to traveling the world, he has shared stages and collaborated with acclaimed artists such as Mike Phillips, Carol Riddick, and The Hamiltones.
Beyond his creative output on major streaming platforms, Howard is a staple of the Charlotte music community. We often hear him at Middle C Jazz alongside some of the biggest names that hit our stage, performing a diverse range of genres including jazz, gospel, rhythm and blues, funk and hip hop. His contributions have been recognized by The Nerve, Charlotte SHOUT, and MusicEverywhereCLT.
