Rod Harris Jr has shared stages and recording studios with music legends, and his talents have graced the silver screen, with appearances in hit biopics like “Cadillac Records,” “Bessie,” and “The Color Purple Musical Film.” These experiences have perfected his technical craft as well as his musical storytelling and performance dynamics.
In 2016, RHJ released his debut jazz-funk album “The Counsel Of Elders”, which pays homage to jazz guitar luminaries Wes Montgomery, Grant Green, George Benson, and Kenny Burrell. In 2018, RHJ received a Grammy Nomination for his musical contributions on Neo-Soul legend artist Musiq Soulchild’s album “Feel The Real”. Rod continues to receive recognition, with his most recent 2023 release “The Duo Sessions: Celebrating The Music Of Jazz Piano Legends” and his EP collaboration “Midnight Sky”, with Grammy Award winning trombonist Saunders Sermons.
The quartet’s performance will offer a rich repertoire filled with jazz history and intertwined with a bold statement on its future.
