Special invitation from Marcus.
Marcus Click’s recent 2023 album “Brand New Day” truly embody his smooth jazz style, life journey, and outlook.
As a native of the Louisville, Kentucky, Marcus grew up in a single parent household with aspirations of becoming a pro football player. Instead, he committed to 13 years honorable services in the U.S. Navy, where he developed a keen interest in jazz. A phone call with the late saxophonist George Howard and a conversation with Rebbie Jackson (sister of Micheal and Janet Jackson) solidified his new direction towards a musical journey.
Marcus has headlined festivals across the US including the 2016 Kentucky Derby City Jazz Festival and the 2019 Jacksonville Jazz Festival. In 2019, he was recognized with the AMG’s Instrumentalist of the Year Award.
Marcus’s music singles have climbed the charts. His single, “Brand New Day”, debuted #1 for the most spins (1st week in rotation) for Billboard Smooth Jazz radio stations. “Together We Stand” charted on SmoothJazz.com Top 50 list. “Sound the Alarm” charted for seven consecutive weeks on Smooth Jazz top 100. Marcus’s songs continue to spin on Sirius XM Radio’s Watercolors and the Music Choice Network.
Marcus ‘s 2023 full album release “Brand New Day” continues this trajectory of success, with contributors including Mel Holder, Roger Ryan, Ben Parris, Jonathan Fritzen, and Bob Baldwin.
