Her distinct honey-toned mezzo-soprano voice and magnetic stage presence have earned Maysa Leak accolades and recognition, from the Soul Train’s Centric Award to a Grammy nomination. Fans of good soul music, and music that is good for the soul, have appreciated Maysa Leak for over 30 years.
Maysa lent her backing vocals to Stevie Wonder’s “Jungle Fever” soundtrack. Her sultry, jazzy, soulful voice helped power Incognito to international superstardom on a series of albums in the 1990s. She transitioned to a solo career, yielding 14 acclaimed albums and countless sold-out live performances, cementing her position in the music industry.
The launch of her 2023 full-length album “Music for Your Soul”, on her own record label Blue Velvet Soul Records, underscores Maysa’s talent and dedication as an independent artist, and secured the #1 spot on the U.K. Soul Charts.
