PJ Spraggins

James ‘PJ’ Spraggins is a Top 10 Billboard charting jazz drummer, composer, and recording artist whose groove-driven sound blends smooth jazz, funk, and soul into an irresistible rhythm. With a career spanning multiple albums and singles, PJ has earned a reputation for delivering music that captivates and uplifts listeners. A native of Bessemer, Alabama, PJ’s passion for music began early, leading him to refine his craft through formal training and years of performing with some of the industry’s top musicians. His drumming style is both technical and expressive, setting the perfect foundation for his
melodic compositions.

 

PJ’s discography includes standout projects such as The Light of Day (2006), Pure Logic (2012), Time to Heal (2015) & his current project Stick It Out (2023), each showcasing his ability to fuse jazz with contemporary influences. His latest releases include the soulful track Move To The Groove and his latest hit song High Five which recently landed at #6 the Top 10 on
Billboard Smooth Jazz Chart. Beyond the studio, PJ is a dynamic live performer, bringing energy and passion to the stage,
whether headlining shows or supporting other artists. His music is available on all streaming
platforms.

 

As he prepares to release his upcoming album in June 2026, PJ continues to push the boundaries of jazz, blending tradition with innovation and keeping audiences grooving to his infectious beats.
