WITH SPECIAL GUESTS RODNEY SHELTON AND ZIAD RABIE
Join vocal powerhouse Robyn Springer for an elegant evening celebrating three titans of sophisticated R&B, quiet storm, and soul. With the same commanding musical DNA, Springer has the vocal weight to deliver Phyllis Hyman’s rich alto, the agility for Angela Bofil’s soaring runs, and the pure storytelling soul of Gladys Knight.
ROBYN SPRINGER, VOCALIST
Robyn Springer is a professional vocalist whose richly diverse musical background includes a debut R&B solo album (Makin’ Moves, Virgin Records/ Cardiac); featured vocal performances on albums by such artists as contemporary jazz saxophonist Najee to Fugees’ alternative/rapper John Forte; and various live tours from London to Greece to New York, where she appeared with such legends as George Benson, Herbie Hancock, and Kirk Whalum.
ZIAD RABIE, SAXOPHONIST
Ziad is the Artistic Director for “Jazz at the Bechtler” where he currently performs monthly. Ziad has recorded with national artists such as The Godfather of Soul James Brown, Gospel Music Hall of Fame Recording Artist “John P. Kee”, and Giant Warner Recording Artists “Company.”
RODNEY SHELTON, KEYBOARDIST
Grammy nominated Rodney “Keys” Shelton is the quiet storm in the music industry. In the early 90’s after meeting with legendary music promoter/manager “Howard Rosen”, legendary producer Stewart Levine and Jolie Jones (daughter of Quincy Jones), Rodney’s band “Curio” signed a deal with Motown records. While signed to Motown, Rodney met R&B singer “Keith Washington” and along with Marsha Jenkins wrote the platinum record “Kissing You”, which after 20 years is still rocking the airwaves.
