With a body of work consists of over 15 themed shows, Noel and Maria will present the best of their themed “Jazz Celebrations”, including Ray Charles, Stevie Wonder, Motown, Chicago, Ella Fitzgerald, Hall & Oates, Billy Joel & Elton John and the Beatles. Come hear how this unique duo and their all-star band re-imagine some of the greatest hits of the 20th century.
Always approaching the music from “the left,” Noel and Maria have made a name for themselves as they offer listeners something they have heard, but that they have never heard before. Combine this fresh musical approach with a rapport and witty banter that harkens back to a bygone era, and you have Noel and Maria in their element: on stage, thrilling an audience at every turn.
NOEL FREIDLINE
A renowned pianist, vocalist, and educator, Noel has performed at major jazz festivals worldwide, including Montreux and Jacksonville. He’s a recipient of numerous accolades, including the 2009 Charlotte Magazine Best Jazz Musician award and the 2011 Blumenthal Performing Arts Association Center Stage Award.
MARIA HOWELL
A celebrated singer, actor, and voiceover artist with over 35 years of experience. Maria has graced the screen in hit TV shows (“Army Wives,” “Criminal Minds”, and most recently “Beyond the Gates”) and films (“The Color Purple,” “The Blind Side”). As a vocalist, she’s shared the stage with legendary artists like Nancy Wilson, George Benson, and Ray Charles.
