A Tribute to Sly Stone, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin

Join vocalist Mandyl Evans, Gena Chambers and Alex Austin, the power trio, as they Step into the revolutionary sound of the late 1960s with Freedom, Fire & Funk. A powerful tribute to three of music’s most electrifying icons—Sly Stone, Janis Joplin, and Jimi Hendrix. This high-energy concert celebrates the psychedelic spirit, soul-driven grooves, and fearless artistry that transformed rock, funk, and blues forever. From blazing guitar anthems to raw blues vocals and infectious funk rhythms, the evening recreates the sound, spirit, and cultural impact of an unforgettable era in music history.

 

ALEX AUSTIN is a soulful R&B artist known for her smooth vocals and emotional storytelling. Drawing from classic soul and modern influences like SZA and H.E.R., she blend lush harmonies with contemporary production, to create an intimate yet commanding sound. 

 

GENA CHAMBERS has traveled all over the country performing with notable smooth jazz artists Oli Silk, Will Downing, and Tom Braxton, and opened for giants Gerald Albright, Kirk Whalum, and Jonathan Butler to name a few. Her high energy performances are a favorite for Middle C Jazz audiences.

 

MANDYL EVANS is the nephew of R&B singer Wilbert Harrison and cousin of Gospel great John P Kee. The Mandyl Evans Group has been the opening act for Roberta Flack, Aretha Franklin, and Gladys Knight.  Mandyl has toured with R&B singers Stephanie Mills and Calvin Richardson.
