Jazz N Soul Inspirations: Shemaine & Crimson Soul

A native of Charlotte and graduate of Northwest School of Arts, Shemaine has spent the last 15 years performing R and B Soul with various bands around the Charlotte and surrounding area. She began singing at age 14. She received a full scholarship to Winston Salem State University and from there went on to pursue live performing.

 

Her musical style is an R and B/NeoSoul/Hip-Hop fusion with influences such as Chaka Khan, Aretha Franklin, Brandy, Beyonce, Allegra Snoh, Jill Scott, Faith Evans and more. She released her first album, “Nostalgia, Volume 1” in 2021 on which she wrote all of the songs and produced several others. After releasing that album she began working more on developing her personal style of music through producing and writing, as well as starting her own band, Crimson Soul which has done 6 sold out shows in Charlotte since it’s inception in November of 2021.

 

Shemaine’s professional music career, although spans over a decade, her recent movement as a singer/songwriter/producer has only just begun! She often says she considers herself a “Veteran Rookie” as she feels her musical journey has been reborn!

 

She was named one of Reverbnations #1 Local R and B Artist in the Charlotte area in 2021 and is excited to share her music with her city LIVE and on all major platforms!
