Karen Briggs is celebrated for her electrifying fusion of jazz, R&B, gospel, and classical influences. A native of New York who began her studies at age four, she gained global fame as the legendary featured soloist in Yanni’s Live at the Acropolis. Throughout her illustrious career, she has performed alongside icons such as Stevie Wonder, Diana Ross, and Chaka Khan. Known as the “Lady in Red,” Briggs captivates audiences with her signature passionate playing and commanding stage presence. As one of the most dynamic violinists on the contemporary scene, her genre-crossing sound continues to inspire listeners worldwide.
Briggs’s latest independent release, Sonic Woodwork, marks a bold new milestone in her storied catalog. Composed, produced, and performed exclusively by Briggs, the 11-track contemporary jazz collection captures the full scope of her musical vision, ranging from fiery solo runs to compelling spoken word.
