A native of Chicago who later earned a degree in digital music composition from Princeton University, Jordan burst onto the national jazz scene in 1985 with his seminal Blue Note Records debut, Magic Touch. The album spent a staggering 51 weeks at number one on the Billboard jazz charts and permanently cemented his status as an acoustic and electric trailblazer.
