I have seen with my own two eyes what Middle C Jazz brings to the people of Charlotte: not only a night of happiness through the beauty of music, but also a venue that takes you to NYC without having to even step on a plane. Seeing the customers enjoying themselves, making new friends, and singing their hearts out … I mean how could I not rave about an environment like this! The more you come to Middle C Jazz, the more you will want to stay!

There are a few shows per year that I put a star next to on my calendar and a huge one is coming up! On Thursday, December 9th, Middle C is proud to present Big Swing and the Ballroom Blasters for a cannot miss show honoring the best of Earth, Wind, and Fire.

Grammy Award-winning Band Leader, Jerry Freeman, toured with Earth, Wind and Fire, founded Grammy Award-winning horn section, “Hornz Unlimited”, toured with OutKast, performed multiple times with Aretha Franklin and Stevie Wonder, recorded seven platinum albums, and recorded multiple times with John Legend, Lionel Ritchie and Sly and the Family Stone. To have the opportunity to see this band in the intimate setting of Middle C is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and I hope you can all join us for an unforgettable show.

Jay D Jones & Organic Soul Present Thanksgiving with soul- Music of Stevie Wonder, Luther Vandross, Frankie Beverly, & more

What better way to start the Thanksgiving celebrations then with the music of Stevie Wonder, Luther Vandross, Frankie Beverley, and more soul legends!!

Lucky for us, Middle C Jazz had the pleasure of welcoming back Jay D Jones to our premier stage. Jay D is a Charlotte native and truly shines through his music and always brings life to the whole club when he performs… which is what he did this past Wednesday night with his “Thanksgiving with soul” show. This show was so quick to sell out and it was a show one hundred percent worthy of it!

Honestly, whenever I see that Jay D is playing at the club, I always get so excited!! I swear his voice is a smooth as an expensive brandy and will keep you grooving all night long. If you’ve heard him sing you know exactly what I’m talking about and if you haven’t… don’t wait around!! Next time you see that he is performing here at middle c, please come out and see how outstanding his musical gift is. You will not be disappointed one bit.

Willis Hickerson Bill Withers Tribute

What a wonderful two nights of the Bill Withers tribute with Grammy-nominated, award-winning musician and producer Willis Hickerson!!!!

Friday and Saturday night were both filled with beautiful piano playing by Mr. Hickerson, who was joined on stage for vocals by Gena Chambers on Friday night and Ken Gober on Saturday night. Middle C Jazz had so much talent under one roof it should have been illegal.

As soon as all the classics were being sung, it was hard to stand still or even keep my mouth shut… I had to literally tell myself “ shh I’m at a show and no one paid to hear me sing that’s for sure” haha. Needless to say it was a wonderful night filled with high spirits and good music… what more could you ask for?

I hope everyone enjoyed their Thanksgiving celebrations and cannot wait to see everyone’s faces at the club!!
