Billboard #1 “Paradigm Shift”, “Magic Mirror” and “Fire & Water” gained national recognition in the Contemporary Jazz world since the release of the Album. Other Top 5 singles “Perfect Sunday” and “Stronger Now” – from her 2020 full length album Stronger Now – have crossed over to massive numbers in a metric usually touted by mainstream pop stars. Currently, “Perfect Sunday” has over 7.9M streams on Spotify and “Stronger Now” has over 2.9M. The album’s other radio hits include the Top 5 hit “Femme Flight,” which featured flutist Ragan Whiteside and saxophonist Magdalena Chovancova and earned Carol a new legion of fans via extensive airplay on SiriusXM’s Watercolors.

SEAN MASON

When Sean Mason speaks about music, you can hear the notes falling into place. The cadence of his ideas unfolds with deliberate tempo, each exploring and resolving tension like an inspired chord progression. Born and raised in Charlotte, North Carolina, Sean took to the piano at the late age of 13, teaching himself by ear to play the styles of music he was most attracted to. His approach quickly evolved into a highly original language. Sean’s unique voice in jazz is steeped in the sound of the South, allowing an extended time for groove while also displaying a vocabulary far beyond his years. As a bandleader, he leads the Sean Mason Quartet, a band assembled to play Sean’s original music, which has been described as highly melodic and infectious. He will be at Middle C on Friday, May 3 at 7pm and 9:15pm and Saturday, May 4 at 6:15pm and 8:45pm!
