Quiana Parler: Connecting the World to Carolina

PERFORMING “SOUND OF SOUL”, WITH CHARLTON SINGLETON

Performance: Friday, July 18

July, 2025 –

The celebrated voice of Carolina native Quiana Parler has graced some of the most prestigious stages in the US and Europe. Parler has been a prominent figure in the regional music scene for over two decades, gaining national recognition after her success on the 2003 season of American Idol.

Her artistry and powerful vocal presence have led to collaborations with Clay Aiken, Kelly Clarkson, Ruben Studdard, Bobby McFerrin, Miranda Lambert, Lambert, David Foster, and more. Parler’s dynamic performances have been featured on numerous national broadcasts, such as NBC’s TODAY, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, The Tyra Banks Show, and Saturday Night Live. She has also appeared on major awards shows like the Academy of Country Music Awards and the American Music Awards.

Having toured extensively, Quiana returned to Charleston to form “Quiana Parler and Friends,” an ensemble of South Carolina’s elite musicians known for their raw energy and endless enthusiasm. The group enjoys a diverse repertoire spanning 50 years of musical history, from jazz and pop to R&B and rock & roll.

Parler has leaned into the rich musical heritage of the South Carolina Lowcountry as the lead vocalist for the Grammy Award-winning group Ranky Tanky. The Carolina quintet Ranky Tanky explores traditional Gullah music, giving it new life with a contemporary and jazz twist. The impact of that endeavor is demonstrated through two Grammy awards, a #1 position on Billboard and other charts, and recognition on NPR and Downbeat.

Performing together in Ranky Tanky, Quiana Parler and South Carolina trumpeter Charlton Singleton discovered a broader kinship. They have branched off to offer performances that showcase their off-the-charts chemistry, heart-stopping vocals, and next-level musicianship.

Enjoy the upcoming performance of these two musicians who have brought Carolina music to the world and worldwide-acclaimed musicianship to the Carolinas. Performance: Friday, July 18th.
