A Calling to Serve: Isaiah Bell’s Mission in Music
Performance Sunday, January 4th
Isaiah Bell isn’t just making music; he’s telling stories. Hailing from upstate New York, the accomplished singer, songwriter, and vocal director describes his sound as “the sound of a story”—one listeners can find themselves in and walk away from changed. Gospel music has been woven into Isaiah’s life since birth, but one of the most formative moments came early on: his first solo in church as a child. What started as a simple children’s choir song became the spark for a lifelong calling. That moment of standing before people he loved while doing what he loved set him on a path that has now spanned over two decades of music ministry.
At the heart of Isaiah Bell’s music is service. Inspired by Jesus, his community, and the collective weight of the times, Isaiah sees his work as a response to what people are experiencing—especially those navigating hardship while holding onto faith. His goal is simple but powerful: for listeners to be reminded they are seen and to feel personally communicated with through song.
Isaiah’s creative process is as intentional as it is authentic. At its core, his artistry is rooted in patience, collaboration, and refinement. His debut single, “Fortress,” took four years to complete, while “You Chose Me” took two—a testament to his commitment to not rushing what is meant to be meaningful. Rather than chasing trends, Isaiah allows songs to develop organically, often calling on trusted collaborators to help bring his vision to life. This approach results in music that feels lived-in, honest, and deeply resonant; it is not just heard, but felt.
Beyond recorded music, Isaiah is passionate about expanding live gospel music experiences, particularly in the Charlotte region, envisioning a future where gospel music occupies more public, communal spaces. Isaiah has been spearheading “Gospel Sundays” at Middle C throughout 2025 and now into 2026. Deeply involved in the local gospel community, he curates influential and impactful artists for the stage, where the intimate listening space of Middle C offers a unique and immersive experience.
In all of his efforts, Isaiah Bell isn’t just creating music; he’s creating moments of connection and hope.
You can catch Isaiah Bell’s curated Gospel Sundays series at Middle C throughout 2026. Next performance is Sunday, January 4th featuring Courtney Montgomery.
