Two-time Grammy Nominee Christian Sands is a jazz pianist and composer who seamlessly blends the rich traditions of jazz with his own innovative and contemporary approach. Rooted in post-bop, piano jazz, and straight-ahead jazz, Sands demonstrates a remarkable technical proficiency and a soulful melodic touch. He effortlessly navigates a wide range of jazz styles, from classic swing to modern explorations, making him a truly versatile and captivating performer.

A gifted jazz pianist, Sands began as a protégé of the late Dr. Billy Taylor, attended the Manhattan School of Music, and then toured internationally as a member of Christian McBride’s Inside Straight.

With 10 albums as leader, Sands’ latest 2024 album release, Embracing Dawn, serves as a cinematic narration of healing and triumph, reflecting Sands’ personal experience while offering a guide for anyone who has experienced loss of any kind. The album explores musical styles as varied as neo- and alternative soul, mid-tempo swing, funky gospel, ballads, acoustic jazz-rock, and trap-style beats.
