Connecting the Rhythm of the Queen City
THE JAZZ COALITION
We are proud to share a new facet to Charlotte’s music scene.
Middle C Jazz has always striven to be more than just a venue, but rather a connection of artistry and live performance for the community. Today, we are excited to announce that we are working together with three other pillars of our musical community to form The Jazz Coalition.
This strategic alliance brings together primary architects of the Charlotte jazz landscape:
- Larry Farber: Founding Partner of EastCoast Entertainment, Founder of Middle C Jazz and Music With Friends, recipient of Blumenthal Lifetime Achievement Award.
- Al Kemp: Producer of the Royal Summer Jazz Series, recipient of the 2024 Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award.
- Greg Willingham: President and Founder of Jazz N Soul Music, curator of Charlotte’s longest-running live music series.
- Charles Whitfield: NC Music Hall of Fame inductee and long-time industry executive.
One Community, One Voice The Jazz Coalition represents a unified effort to elevate the genre across the Carolinas. By combining our resources and expertise, we are ensuring that Charlotte remains a premier destination for world-class jazz, soul, and blues.
As Larry Farber puts it, “Together, this group is joining forces to demonstrate the reality the insiders know: jazz is one community in Charlotte—one voice.”
The First Step The Coalition’s debut initiative will be the production of “Strings, Sax, & Soul” featuring Karen Briggs, Jazmin Ghent, and Maria Howell at the Booth Playhouse on April 16. More information and tickets here…
Presenting a roster of artists familiar to Middle C Jazz’s stage, this collaboration serves as the opening note of our collective mission to deliver high-caliber, unforgettable musical experiences to the Queen City.
