Keiko Matsui: Boundary-breaking Musician & Humanitarian
Performance Friday & Saturday, March 13-14
As we celebrate Women’s History Month this March, Middle C Jazz is honored to welcome back a true global icon who embodies the spirit of female leadership and artistic boundary-breaking: Keiko Matsui.
With a career spanning over three decades and 30 albums, Keiko has spent her life as a trailblazer—not only as the first Japanese artist to top the Billboard Contemporary Jazz charts but as a tireless advocate for humanitarian causes and women’s health. Her music is more than jazz; it is a message of peace and “Euphoria” that resonates across cultures.
While our 2025 feature article delved into the inspiration behind her latest hits, the journey has only evolved since then. Her 30th anniversary album “Euphoria” has become a definitive staple of the contemporary jazz scene, with Keiko introducing new, complex live arrangements that showcase her mastery of multiple keyboards simultaneously.
Live at Middle C (March 13-14): Keiko returns to our stage in just a few weeks for a highly anticipated multi-night residency. After her sold-out run last year, these four sets are expected to be the highlight of our spring season.
