Middle C Jazz Celebrates Diversity of Music for Jazz Appreciation Month
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Tuesday, March 24, 2026 — This April, Middle C offers jazz across the spectrum, highlighting the breadth of the influence of “American Music”. Whether you connect jazz with the blues, as straightahead Bebop, soul/funk/R&B, Latin, or today’s chart topping smooth, contemporary and even pop hits, it’s a genre that influences music across the world.
“Charlotte is a community steeped in exceptional music. We’re excited to use Jazz Appreciation Month as a platform to raise up that message,” says Middle C Jazz Co-founder Larry Farber.
For International Jazz Day April 30th, wrapping up a month of incredible music is Harvey Cummings II, Soul Infected Jazz. Harvey Cummings II carries us away in an array of jazz standards, fusion, rhythm and blues and original material from his debut album, The Only Child. The performance is a representation of what jazz is all about – local musicians pushing the boundaries of music. In addition to a live performance, this show will be available digitally worldwide linked to the International Jazz Day calendar of events.
“To me, jazz represents the ultimate freedom of expression. There are no set rules. Which makes jazz for everybody. And you find it in the evolution of everything from rock to hip hop.” shares Cummings.
This is a great month to appreciate the jazz connection to the music you love, or to explore a new path. The April calendar is a full spectrum of jazz at its finest:
