Naturally 7
R&B A CAPELLA VOCAL PYROTECHNICS
Performances: Friday & Saturday, April 18 & 19
“The best a capella group in the world!” – Quincy Jones.
“An a capella group” so vastly underplays what Naturally 7 creates onstage that they coined a phrase for it – “Vocal Play”. The audio pyrotechnics that Naturally 7 put on display every night are often jaw-dropping. They transform their voices into human instruments, effortlessly producing music of any genre.
Their sonic mastery was on full display in a series of unforgettable performances on “The World’s Best” TV show, which premiered on CBS immediately following Super Bowl LIII, cementing their singular status among the planet’s musical elite.
Naturally 7 was founded in 1999 by brothers Roger and Warren Thomas, joined by five other singers from in and around [insert location, e.g., their hometown, the area]. The group was invited to sing at a major a cappella competition in New York City. After winning that and several others, Naturally 7 was faced with the choice of whether to become an a cappella group or a traditional band, and settled on the novel idea that the group would be both.
Naturally 7 has released a number of albums over the years, beginning with their 2000 debut studio album “Non-Fiction”, and rounding out a dozen albums with their most recent 2024 compilation “N7@ The Movies”.
The group gained success with a partial cover of Phil Collins’s “In the Air Tonight”. The performance of the song at a subway received over four and a half million hits on YouTube alone and turned into a Top 3-chart success in countries outside North America.
In 2009, the group appeared on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, performing “Stardust” with Michael Bublé, followed by performing at Quincy Jones’s 2009 Bermuda Music Festival.
Surpassing a 20-year career, Naturally 7 has enjoyed 3 world tours – nearly 500 shows – with the incomparable Michael Bublé, shared billing with global phenomenon Coldplay, and owned the spotlight in a pair of national Cheerios commercials. Naturally 7 has shared the stage with numerous icons, including Stevie Wonder, Diana Ross, Quincy Jones, Sarah Connor, Lionel Richie, Ludacris, The Roots, and more. Counted among their world-famous fans are President Barack Obama, Will.I.Am., Ellen DeGeneres, Craig Ferguson, Bill and Melinda Gates, Jay Leno, Allan Titchmarsh, Mo’Nique, Jools Holland, and Arsenio Hall, along with countless others.
For the members of Naturally 7 – “Ricky“ Lee Ricardo Cort, Rod Eldridge, N’namdi Bryant, Sean Simmonds, Dwight Stewart, Roger Thomas, and Warren Thomas – it’s a privilege to do what they love and bring so much joy to the hearts of their fans each and every night. It’s exactly what you would expect. When something is pure magic it’s destined to withstand the test of time. Naturally… Naturally 7.
Naturally 7 returns to Middle C Jazz, Friday and Saturday April 17-18.
